I'm off

This week, I'll be attending a Knight Digital Media Center technology workshop at UC Berkeley. I'm excited to delve deeper into digital delivery. Also, it's my first trip to California, and I'm free on Saturday, so I'm looking forward to seeing a few sights, as well. I've always wanted to check out the giant redwoods, so I hope to find a way to get to Muir Woods.

Here's a bit about the workshop:

The tech workshop is a four-day training session focused on Web 2.0 technologies and tools that are especially relevant to covering breaking news. All of the training is based on producing and delivering content through blogs and social networks. Fellows learn the basics of blogging, as well as how to produce and post map mashups, how to geocode, and how to map multiple points using data sets. Fellows also learn how to use tools like Flickr, Facebook and YouTube for content distribution and learn to make a publication widget.

The Knight Foundation is big on sharing what you've learned with your colleagues, so I'll be blogging here from the workshop. If you have any questions or want me to look into something, let me know. See you next week.
